Kip Carter Wins BFL Regional

KIP CROWNED KING OF WHEELER

BULLDOG ANGLER IS ON A ROLL

The hits just keep coming for Social Circle’s Kip Carter.  After winning the points championship in the T-H Marine Bulldog Division, Kip Saturday won the BFL Regional on Wheeler Lake in Alabama, catching 13-2 pounds on the final day for a three-day total of 42-12. Kip’s winnings totaled $65,200. He’ll also lead a team of Bulldog Division anglers who will be headed to the T-H Marine All-American Tournament next May at Cross Lake, La.

Kip Carter has qualified for his fourth All American Tournament by winning the BFL Regional at Wheeler Lake, beating nearly 200 boaters from four states.

Other notable finishes by Georgians on the Alabama Lake were Tyler Morgan of Columbus, who finished second with 40-7, John Duvall of Greshamville with 37-4 and Grant Kelly of Milledgeville, who had 35-8 pounds. John had been in second place going into the final round, but still stayed in the Top Six, ensuring his second consecutive trip to the All American.

On the co-angler side, Matthew O’Connell of Brooks, Georgia finished 2nd with 32-3 pounds over three days. And Gainesville’s Harold Grizzle, always a contender on the co-angler side, came in 4th place with 23-4 pounds and Daniel Tuten of Byron finished out the Bulldog contingent with a fifth place finish and 21-12 pounds.

That’s quite a showing. There was obviously no ‘home field advantage’ for the Bama Division anglers. Seven of the 12 All-American slots at the Wheeler regional went to Bulldog fishermen, while only two Bama Division anglers advanced to the All American.

Congrats to all these All American Bulldog Division anglers. They did themselves proud!
